Join us for Fall 2015

Come learn with us!

An engaging, fun Montessori Preschool and Kindergarten experience is available for you this Fall! A large beautiful area is dedicated for the children's environment. We also offer the amazing, yet very simple and powerful opportunity to learn Chinese and Spanish, in addition to English and American Sign Language. Give your child a great start in languages through our immersive, hands-on, engaging, Montessori language learning method, that will benefit them in math and other areas of life for years to come!

What is the difference between Lighthouse Montessori Academy and other preschool options?

Small class size. Our enrollment is limited to 8 students. Each child will receive individualized attention to fuel their love of learning.

The Montessori method. While any preschool will give you a break as you send your children off for a few hours a week, only a loving teacher in a carefully prepared environment, with specialized and carefully prepared materials, can engage and help blossom the child's potential in every aspect. Here we focus in the areas of practical life (cleaning after themselves, tying shoes), sensorial (engineering and technology), math (my K daughter is doing 2 grade math), language (English speaking, reading, writing), cultures, geography, science, socialization, grace and courtesy. We have a blog where you can see past experiences.  Our cultural lesson at the start of every class includes a science or history topic tied in with a gospel principle.

Chinese immersion.  1 hour per class, 12 hours per month, of Chinese immersion for your budding linguist. This can help children who might go into the Chinese immersion program a great handle on the language, making them feel comfortable in first grade.

Spanish immersion. I am a native Spanish speaker. In the past, I have helped non-native children learn to ask for things and everyday vocabulary, colors, etc.

cultural enrichment. While other preschools may spend all their time in imaginative pretend activities, we use imaginative play to fuel the child's interest in the sciences, the arts, cultures and peoples that surround us.

Understanding the decimal system and reading large numbers
My kindergartner just tested at a second grade level in languages and math. My first grader is reading at a fifth grade level, and doing third grade math. I take no credit other than my love and attention, the prepared environment, their love of learning, and the Montessori method.

Our hours are M, W, Th 8:30 am to 11:30 am. Three hours, three times a week, three hundred dollars per month.  If you struggle with justifying the tuition, let me tell you that I will not be just babysitting your children. Hence I will not charge you $100 for 36 hours of work a month. If $300 for 3 days a week is not within your means, we can do $200 for two days a week. Unlike other private schools, there is no contract, and no additional material or hidden fees.

Curious what I offer that is worth the tuition? I will give your children the best, the very thing that Thomas Edison, Hellen Keller, Mahatma Ghandi, the founders of Google  and of Amazon have in common: a Montessori early childhood education, with lots of love, fun. order, and creativity.

If you are interested, or at least curious about it, I would love to have you come over and visit with us (we have two spots available).  At least it can be a great excuse for you to see what we offer and for me to get to know you better! Hope to hear from you today!
